Enemies in present-day Detroit include mainly street hooligans and other criminal elements, while the future is, of course, populated by deadly machines: Terminators, robotic dogs and spiders, and many automated weapons. The player controls RoboCop, who during his police work on the streets of Detroit falls into a trap of Terminators sent from the future. RoboCop versus The Terminator on Sega systems is only loosely based on the comic.
The crossover of the two famous 80's cyborgs in the Dark Horse comic book led to several game adaptations.
